Ambrosia Maple. This tree was taken down to make way for a barn. The land owner asked if I wanted it. I was able to get it back to my shop where I sawmilled and air dried the wood.

Reflections are a part of us. It's what we see then feel, it's a moment we take. This bench is full of reflecting points. Wavy lines of different colors and chatoyance, the depth and figure the Maple has. Each part was placed in such a way to emphasise (reflect) the tree. The hand carved whale tail and scroll incorporated into the arm rest are reminders of wonderful times past, and to contemplate what we wish will be.
At the end of the day a place to sit. Reflect, relax, reset.
